    Amanda's Bio:
I grew up in the Twin Cities, but now live up in Ely, MN near the BWCA, where my family has been for the last 7 years. I have three brothers, who I adore, and I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and rough housing with them whenever I can. My mom has been a daycare provider since I was born, which served as inspiration for me to pursue a degree in Elementary education. I also love to paint, draw, and DANCE! I have been dancing for twenty years and am a dance instructor in Superior, WI....I can't imagine a life without it!

Saturday, a little too perfect for October?!

Okay, so was it just me or was yesterday a little too beautiful for what we should be experiencing in October?  It was amazing out!  60 degrees and sunny, you can’t really ask for much more.  UMD definitely had the best conditions for their homecoming, which was a pretty amazing time I hear.  In fact, if you drove down Woodland Ave yesterday, you probably witnessed some of the crazy house parties that took place in preparation for the game.  One of them started around ten in the morning, with people flooding out onto the balcony and roof of the house.  Hilarious to see.

Anyways, I got to enjoy the beautiful weather by taking a walk out in Lester Park (which for those of you who don’t know, is way out east in Lakeside).  It was gorgeous!  I got to explore the paths and watch the falls along the way.  It was really quiet and peaceful (aside from a few cute little kids who were running along the brook with their mom).  In a way, I feel that being able to do stuff like this really helps me reconnect with life and be at peace with everything that is going on.  This could have to do with the fact that I have lived in Ely for the last several years…perhaps I have become a little “outdoorsy.”  However, it was an amazing and incredibly relaxing experience.

What now?  Well, it’s gross and rainy out today.  Back to the typical Duluth fall weather.  I believe that today, being Sunday, calls for some Vikings football, homework, and ice cream.  Bring it on Packers!!
