MNPC Job & Internship Fair

This past Wednesday I went to the Minnesota Private Colleges’ Job and Internship Fair at the Minneapolis Convention Center. This was an absolute amazing experience and it was all set up through Career Services. They prepared each attendee from St. Scholastica very well, and they even were there at the fair all day with us. The bus loaded at 6:30 AM, and we were on the road by 6:45. We arrived a little after 9:00, and it was all pretty overwhelming at first. Luckily, Career Services made sure I had everything that I needed. There were over 300 employers at the fair, and we even got free professional headshots! The fair ran from 9-3, and I talked to so many employers and handed out so many resumes, I ended up losing track. However, I feel very lucky because I talked to one employer that asked to interview me that very same day. I couldn’t believe it and got pretty nervous after that because I wasn’t planning on doing an interview. Luckily it went very well, and I am going to tour the office and do some shadowing sometime soon. It’s crazy to think about how fast things change in my life. A few years ago around this time I was a senior in high school stressing out about where I was going to go to college, financial aid, and eventually picking CSS and planning out my years here. Now, I am getting ready to leave in less that three months, and am going out into the work world. It is both nerve-wracking and exciting. I am so thankful that we have such an awesome Career Services staff. They walked me through my resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn, everything. I know that I have gotten an amazing education here at CSS, and I am ready to put it to use!
